Artists Biography

Rabeya Jalil is a visual artist and art-teacher educator based in Lahore. She did her undergraduate studies in Fine Art from the National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore (2005) and her Masters in Education from Columbia University, Teachers College, New York, on a Fulbright Scholarship (2013). Currently, Rabeya Jalil is Associate Professor in the Dept. of Fine Art at the National College of Arts, Lahore.

Rabeya Jalil’s creative practice includes painting, writing, teaching (studio and theory), curriculum development and teacher-training. As part of her visual art practice, she reflects on the crossover between representation and abstraction; between marks and forms; between paint as a subject and paint as (a metaphor of) an object.
