Artists Biography

Haider Ali Jan, Born 1983, graduated from Beaconhouse National University in 2008 and since then he has taught at different art institutions. He is currently teaching at Beaconhouse National University as an assistant professor. Haider has participated both in national and international shows, some of which include, 5th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland, Romania, 2018, 2017 Shared Site International Short Film Festival, Culj-Napoca, Romania 2017, New Wight Biennial – UCLA Department of Art, 2016, 5th Moscow International Biennial for Young Art, 2016, Asia Triennial Pacific 8, Queensland Art gallery, 2015, Love, War and Longings, Harvard-Brown

His work is published, apart from other publications, in “The Eye Still Seeks”: Pakistani Contemporary Art. Written by Salima Hashmi. Published by Penguin India. Haider also published his first graphic novel titled, “Sparrow at Heart” in 2016. The graphic novel is based on the life and work of Shakir Ali, one of pakistan’s early modernist painters.
